Ethos
“I build with code and communicate with words, because excellence lies in the details that the user feels, even without seeing them.”
This sentence sums up how I view my work: as an exercise in precision where every decision, however small it may seem, has a direct impact on the experience of whoever is on the other side of the screen. I believe that true quality is not measured solely by what is visible at first glance, but by everything that works seamlessly — a carefully optimised loading time, a visual hierarchy that guides the eye effortlessly, a phrase that sounds natural rather than translated. It is in this space, between the technical and the human, that I enjoy working.
In web design, I oversee the entire creative and technical process to bring a project to life online, from the first sketch to the very last line of code. This means approaching every stage with the same level of rigour: devising the visual identity before designing a single element, structuring the user experience before writing the first line of front-end code, and testing and fine-tuning every detail until the result appears simple, even whilst knowing the work that lies behind that simplicity. The aim is always the same, whether for a business or an individual: to deliver a solid, lasting digital presence that is genuinely aligned with the identity and objectives of those it represents, rather than just a pretty website lacking substance.
In translation, this same care takes on a different form. I work in the English–Portuguese language pair, with technical texts, professional documents and digital content, where terminological accuracy always goes hand in hand with respect for the original context. Translating is not about substituting words; it is about reconstructing a message in another language without losing what made it effective in the first. That is why every project is treated with the care of someone who knows that a poorly crafted sentence can alter the meaning of an entire document: the final result must communicate fluently and naturally in Portuguese, without ever compromising the accuracy or integrity of the source message. Ultimately, whether I’m programming or translating, I’m driven by the same conviction: the details that nobody notices are precisely the ones that make all the difference.
